Safety Coordinator's Program
Safety awareness is the major component to any safety program. Presenting a brief monthly safety topic to each campus/department staff will be one method of creating safety awareness.

At each monthly meeting all employees present must sign an Attendance Roster. This roster will be sent to the Risk Management Department. Employees absent will be given the monthly safety topic lesson plan to read on their own time. Safety Coordinators will write the name of each absent employee on the back of the Attendance Roster.

The District should realize a reduction in employee injuries and a safer work environment. This also results in the decrease of pain and suffering caused by injuries. District employees will be healthier to deliver instruction and services to students. Money from the stabilization of premiums can be saved and returned to the operation of educational programs.

The Safety Coordinator will complete a Safety Inspection Report form each month following a safety inspection of their campus/department. Work orders will be completed and submitted to correct any unsafe condition.

The program will be evaluated at the end of the year by completing the Program Evaluation form. This form will be returned to the Risk Management Department by the last day of school.

Safety Spotlight – Monthly Training Topics
Safety Spot Lights are produced each month that features a subject. Safety Coordinators are trained on the safety subject and in turn train their staff.
