Learn 360 Digital Video Streaming

Rockwall ISD’s Switch from United Streaming to Learn 360

Although United Streaming is a quality product, the cost of this service has steadily increased over the last six years and a search for an alternative video streaming service became necessary. On October 15, 2009, Rockwall ISD will change its online video streaming and downloading service from Discovery Education’s United Streaming to Learn 360.

After reviewing Learn 360, I believe you’ll find that it not only has many of the same features available through United Streaming, but also offers additional features that United Streaming does not currently have. Like United Streaming, Learn 360 includes a strong keyword search and the ability to search for titles by TEKS. Learn 360 also has full-length videos, video clips, copyright-free images, newsreels, video speeches and audio files that can be downloaded or streamed. New titles are added on a regular basis, including premium content from PBS and National Geographic.

Your campus Instructional Technology Specialist will provide you with a pass key that you can begin using immediately to set up an account with Learn 360. They will also be offering training on Learn 360’s features.

This switch from United Streaming to Learn 360 means that you will no longer be able to access your United Streaming account after October 15. Any video segments you may have downloaded from United Streaming should be deleted from the computers upon which they reside; however, you can begin downloading videos from Learn 360 as soon as you create your new account.
